About Abi - Free the Peach

Hi I am Abi, the face behind Free the Peach. I studied contour fashion at university and specialise in swim and sportswear. My goal is to create garments that inspire and support women whilst allowing the freedom for them to move and focus on their goals. In time I will have products to sell, but for now I offer my expertise and share my lifestyle with you!

One of my biggest passions in life, apart from fashion is cricket. I have played women and girls county cricket from the age of 12. My life revolves around cricket and it is a massive part of my identity as I come from a family of cricketers. Sport is so important to me, it has given amazing opportunities and is a common ground where I have met many of my closest friends. Being apart of a team of ladies and womanhood that support each other to do the very best is one of the reasons I have started Free the Peach. The motivation they give me through their support and trust is something I want to give back. Helping aid female athletes is my biggest goal and achieving this through offering garments that support them, so they are able to focus on their goals. This is an important value of Free the Peach: support and freedom to strive for the very best.

This also reflects within the gym community. I enjoy going to the gym to push myself and stay disciplined. I love the aesthetic side of body building, although not extreme, I am enjoying seeing how I have changed my body by simply weightlifting. But I also do it as a stress relief. Staying consistent is important to me for my mental health. It is a place that, like cricket, is important to me. My goal one day is to have performance wear that can be worn for the gym and for other sports too. It is all about supporting women and helping them reach their goals.

I have always been very sport orientated with cricket and my country lifestyle. I love horse riding, which is a hobby I do to also stress relieve. Unlike with the gym, horse riding allows me to forget every worry I have. It isn't something I can explain easily, but it is the most amazing feeling: just you and the horse: freedom. It is very therapeutic going for a hack by yourself. Another active way to get my mind away from the busyness of work and every day life.
Travelling is something I love doing as it is a big part of my designs. It enables me to explore different cultures and take inspiration from that and the nature that surrounds it. My favourite designs are those inspired by nature and experimenting with bright, bold colours, print and textures. This is where my love for swimwear has stemmed from. For so long I thought I had accidently fallen into fashion at college, university and now my job but looking back there is a clear trail of sport, fashion, travel and support of women that has lead me exactly to this point. I am so excited to see where my journey leads me and I'd love for you join along too!
